Client - The Guild of Travel Management Companies

The Guild of Travel Management Companies is a trade association for corporate travel agents. It began working with Cavendish to assist it in ensuring that the voice of the business traveller was heard in policy formulation and discussion. The GTMC needed assistance in raising its own profile amongst policy-makers to achieve this.

Cavendish recognised compelling hooks for engagement with policy makers and influencers in the data that the GTMC’s members produce on number of flights purchased per quarter and the sheer scale of transactions processed by its members. We used this appeal as the foundation for a contact programme focused on key backbenchers, Shadow Ministers, civil servants and Special Advisers. This data and the GTMC’s recognition and value as a conduit to the opinion and experience of the corporate traveller is culminating in the launch of a Business Traveller Manifesto ahead of the 2010 General Election.

In the period working with the GTMC, Cavendish has helped ensure that it is no longer peripheral to policy discussions impacting on its trade and members but has a burgeoning reputation for providing insight into a key demographic and is establishing itself an important barometer for future policy ideas.
