VocaLink is a specialist provider of transaction services to government departments, banks and their corporate customers. They provide the payments infrastructure that powers the UK economy. VocaLink appointed Cavendish at the beginning of 2009 with a brief to raise their profile with decision-makers and in particular to promote their unique ability to offer a wide range of additional value-added services which focus on delivering innovation and cost efficiencies.

Cavendish recommended using the VocaLink Take Home Pay Index as a means of raising the company’s profile, offering a monthly mailing to selected Parliamentarians and political advisers. The Index is now e-mailed each month just ahead of publication to MPs on the Treasury Select Committee, on the opposition frontbench and to Ministerial advisers, including in Number Ten, as well as others. An active contact programme has secured meetings with key government, opposition and select committee contacts, and with relevant Whitehall officials. This culminated in successful round-table discussions with both government and opposition MPs.

Cavendish has also supported VocaLink in promoting specific added-value services to government departments, helping them to break through bureaucratic logjams and to secure political support for the introduction of innovative services.
