This is a specialist service for clients in the property, development and construction sectors who seek advice on gaining planning consents. We’ve worked on a wide range of projects, from zoning land for housing development, to supporting major infrastructure and urban regeneration projects, to helping clients understand the decision-making processes and personalities at local and regional government levels.
In 2000 Arrowcroft Group plc acquired a site of strategic importance adjacent to East Croydon station. A joint venture was agreed with Croydon Council to develop the site for an arena which could host major London events as well as housing and office development. Cavendish was called in after the 2006 Borough Elections to rescue the project from a change in Council control which jeopardised the project’s future. Cavendish successfully arranged a number of events to boost the scheme’s profile to the newly-elected Conservative leadership of Croydon Council and the wider business stakeholder community. The upshot was that the new leadership agreed to grant a Compulsory Purchase Order to the developer to enable the development to take place.
